Our Wednesday Night Youth Group is underway and welcomes newcomers. Millie Harris is always looking for new programs and new curriculum to use during youth group time! This year we started two separate programs for our young people.
Middle School Youth - which meets from 5:30-6:30 is pursuing a curriculum called RITE 13. This is a curriculum designed to be sort of a rite of passage for young people. The curriculum is based on 2 years of exploration of faith, friends, and individuality. We will be combining Rite 2 curriculum in our normal "sharing of life events" during youth group time. At the end of the 2 years of Rite 13, our young people will be celebrated with a special service.
High School Youth - which meets from 7:00-8:00 p.m. is implementing aspects of the Youth and Family Institute Peer Ministry Training program. This program focuses on ways to meet and interact with new people, developing active listening skills, and conflict resolution and mediation.
Please remember that everyone is welcomed for dinner on Wednesday night! The dinner cost is $7.00 per person and reservations are requested. There is a healing service starting at 6:00 pm. Dinner is served at 6:30 pm and adult education starts at 7:00 p.m. Home Work Club is available for any middle school youth whose parents wish to stay for the evening's WOW program.
