The Florida Discount Drug Card is designed to lower the cost of prescriptions for Florida residents who are (1) age 60 and older and without prescription drug coverage or who fall into the Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage gap or (2) under age 60, without prescription drug coverage, and with an annual family income of less than 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. Qualifying incomes include those below: $30,636 for an individual, $41,076 for a family of two or $61,956 for a family of four. Ask about income limits for larger families.

Applicants affirm that the information provided on the application is true,
complete, and accurate;no

Is there is an enrollment or application fee?
No,
there is no enrollment or application fee to join the Florida Discount Drug
Card program. There is a one time $1.50 activation fee per membership
card that will be added onto the cost of the first prescription only.

What do I do if my pharmacy will not accept the Florida Discount Drug Card?
All
participating pharmacies will accept the Florida Discount Drug Card. If your
pharmacy is not enrolled as a participating pharmacy, you can encourage
them to enroll in the program. The pharmacy can enroll in the program by
calling our 24-hour pharmacy help desk at 1-800-361-4542.The
help desk staff will enroll the pharmacy on a temporary basis so that you can
fill your prescription immediately. The help desk will also send the pharmacy
a contract to permanently join the program.
Can the Florida Discount Drug Card be used with other discount cards?
You
can have other prescription discount cards along with the Florida Discount Drug
Card. However, you can only utilize one discount card at the time
of purchase.
Can individuals on Medicaid use the Florida Discount Drug Card?
No,
because Florida’s
Medicaid program provides comprehensive coverage of prescription and some
over-the-counter medications. While certain Medicaid
consumers may be subject to a small co-pay for specified drugs, in most cases
the total cost of the prescription is covered by Medicaid and
at no cost to the consumer. However, if you are in the process of spending down
your assets – meaning you are using your own money to pay for
medical costs until Medicaid coverage begin – the Discount Drug Card
can be used until you become eligible for the Medicaid benefit.

How do I receive my medications?
Present
your Florida Discount Drug Card when purchasing prescription drugs at any
participating pharmacy. Participants can also choose a mail order
option that provides a 90-day supply mailed to their home or office.
Will I ever pay more using the card than I would without
the card?
No.
Cardholders will always pay the lower of the price listed on the Florida
Discount Drug Card website or the usual retail price at the pharmacy.
